| POLICIES AND GUIDELINES BEHAVIOR AND CONDUCT · Players, coaches and supporters are to maintain a POSITIVE attitude and to conduct themselves with the highest level of sportsmanship at all times. · Players are to support and encourage their teammates at all times. Coaching and instruction is the responsibility of the coaching staff, not players or supporters. PRACTICES AND TOURNAMENTS · Players must make every effort to attend all practices and tournaments. Notification of absences must be made in advance to the coach. Coaches will advise players how they want to be notified, i.e. phone, e-mail, etc. · Coaching staff will determine player positions. · No player is guaranteed playing time in a match but will be guaranteed an opportunity to play at every tournament. · Rules concerning food and drink must be followed as per tournament location. (Most do not allow outside food or drink.) · Players may not leave a tournament site between or after games without notifying the coach. Teams will have refereeing assignments between games and after tournament elimination. ALL players will remain at the tournament site until ALL refereeing assignments are complete! |
| Communication & Commitment PROBLEMS AND CONCERNS Players wishing to discuss concerns with a coach must do so at a mutually agreed upon time and place. In the event that the discussion is not resolved in a satisfactory manor, the Club Director may be requested to step in and make the final decision. However, all players should make an honest attempt to resolve the issue with their team coach first. DISCUSSIONS SHOULD NOT BE INITIATED DURING PRACTICES OR TOURNAMENTS. Players arguing with a coach, club official or referee during a tournament will result in loss of playing time. PLAYER COMMITMENT Player commitment is essential for the success of the team. The volleyball season is from July through Mid-May. PLAYER AGREES TO COMMIT BOTH IN ATTENDANCE AND FINANCIALLY TO THE TEAM’S ENTIRE SEASON. The contract may be terminated by the player with a 30 day notice. OTHER ACTIVITIES Players who are accepted on the team and have notified their coach of other conflicting sports and/or activities are asked to provide their coach with a calendar of events that will cause them to miss practices and/or tournaments. Coaches must be notified of other events that will cause (2) two consecutive absenses per week as early as possible. This will enable the coach to adjust practices and line-ups accordingly. PLAYERS RESPONSIBILITIES Longhorn Elite is a non-profit organization. To help us continue to keep administrative costs low, we ask each player to help out by setting a good example of the club. The club’s reputation will be based by the example that it’s players show their volleyball peers and surrounding communities. In addition, making timely payments will secure that the costs of the club stay at a reasonable rate. |
